Article: R.S.V.P. Debutante balls put young women in the spotlight

Nearly 60 young women recently participated in debutante balls that honored their commitment to community service and scholarship.

On Nov. 28, 12 high school seniors participated in the 28th annual Christian Business and Professional Alliance Debutante Cotillion, which was held at the Milwaukee Hilton.

Those participants were Lowrysha Cheatham, Neisha Clark, Shamara Davis, Kahla Pace-Dotson, Diamonique Felder, Mariah Galarza, Kayla Jackson, Kara Macon, Ebony Maxwell, Nnenna Obiora, Danielle Patterson and Valecia Patton.

Jackson was selected as Miss Debutante 2008. She is a senior at Rufus King High School and plans to attend Spelman College and major in sports medicine.
