Five National Division Two games had already passed without a win
and things were getting desperate at the foot of the table.
An SOS to Graham Dawe at Plymouth Albion saw two loan signings
dispatched down to Cornwall as preparations began for a daunting
trip to Blaydon - winger Darren Ritchie, who Mounts Bay knew all
about was one, the other was a relatively unknown utility back
called Steve Johns.
However, it's fair to say that 21-year-old Johns has more than
made a name for himself with the Bay faithful in the ten league
