Background: The plaintiffs allegedly were injured as the result of a chemical emission that occurred on the premises of their employer, Eastman Kodak Co. They commenced an action against the defendant, a separate company that provided security services on Kodak's premises. The plaintiffs allege that in the course of conducting a roadblock to prevent access to the site of the emission, one of the defendant's employees negligently directed the plaintiff employees to drive a route that exposed them to the chemicals.
