Anyone interested in the First World War will want a copy of the
recently-published book Corky's War.
It is written by Ronald Fairfax, of Hull, and subtitled A
Yorkshire Man At War.
It is the diary of a Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) stretcher-
bearer for the period 1915 to 1919 and costs pounds9.99, plus
pounds2 postage and packing, has 264 pages and is illustrated.
Mr Fairfax said: "It is based on the comprehensive and detailed
war diaries of RAMC Orderly, Percy Cawkwell, who was born and lived
his post-war life in Hull.
"Percy spent four years in action on the Western, Ypres and
Italian fronts.
