Knit one, purl two; talk, laugh and learn a lot.

And so it goes with the St. Albans Knitters, an informal group of ladies who meet each Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the St. Albans Branch Library.

Knitting is a cozy thing to do, especially on a rainy, slate grey day. As the wind howled and the rain blew outside on a recent Wednesday morning, the St. Albans Knitters were inside the library stitching everything from socks to blankets.

Former St. Albans Librarian Toni Blessing started the group about four years ago, said Pam Harvey, one of the group's regular attendees.
