Elkhart, Ind. -- War memorials dot America's landscape, stone gardens and brass markers that honor service, that honor the dead.

This is the story behind one such memorial, a small engraved stone that sits at the base of a 38-foot flagpole outside the administration building at Elkhart Memorial High School.

The inscription reads: "In Honor of Marine Corporal Aaron L. Seal, Who Gave His Life For Our Country. 1982-2006."
