Solid demand occurred for store lambs at livestock sales at
Canterbury Agricultural Park, in Christchurch, this week.
The best store lambs made $60 to $65 with the occasional sale to
$70 in a good-quality yarding attended by local and mid-Canterbury
buyers. No change occurred in the prime lamb market with the best
making $100 to $112 and the occasional pen rising as high as $116.
Prime ewes were on par with last week, with heavy ewes at $64 to
$72.
A small yarding of good prime cattle met good demand with prices
rising 10c/kg from last week. Steers made 182c/kg to 189c with sales
to 194c.
