Article: Lamb prices rise; CANTERBURY AGRICULTURAL PARK LIVESTOCK SALES

Solid demand occurred for store lambs at livestock sales at Canterbury Agricultural Park, in Christchurch, this week.

The best store lambs made $60 to $65 with the occasional sale to $70 in a good-quality yarding attended by local and mid-Canterbury buyers. No change occurred in the prime lamb market with the best making $100 to $112 and the occasional pen rising as high as $116. Prime ewes were on par with last week, with heavy ewes at $64 to $72.

A small yarding of good prime cattle met good demand with prices rising 10c/kg from last week. Steers made 182c/kg to 189c with sales to 194c.
