Community Coalition seeks $78.5M

The Rochester Community Coalition, led by the Rochester Business Alliance and representing various businesses, labor unions, academic institutions and local governments, last submitted a $78.5 million request to Gov. David A. Paterson.

The coalition, formerly known as the Rochester Fair Share Coalition, is pushing for equity between Upstate and Downstate shares of funding as well as mandate relief.

The agency also asked Paterson to allow wine sales in grocery, convenience and drug stores, saying the move would bump up state revenues and create jobs.
