Article: Code enforcement officer to resign

Joe Siwula, longtime code enforcement officer for Everson, will resign from the position as soon as a replacement is found.

In the meantime, Siwula will continue the duties without pay as of Monday's borough council meeting.

Pulling double-duty, he serves as a councilman and refused the meager compensation council members are given for their service.

Siwula cited personal reasons for his decision to resign, but council President Michael Banaszak wanted to make it clear that it had nothing to do with noncooperation between himself and the borough or Siwula being frustrated with the job.
