A s a life-long dairy and beef farmer who also works as an
adviser for the Environment Agency, I get asked a lot of questions
and mention of "poacher-turned-gamekeeper" by my friends and fellow
farmers about deserting my farm to sit in an office five days a
week.
The more difficult questions are probably: "Why does the
Environment Agency want to make life more difficult for farmers with
so much red tape and demands?"
My views on this are firstly, I completely agree with the
overburden of red tape placed on farmers. Secondly, I think it is
