Article: Third-ranked Green Dragons hang on vs. Lancers

HAMDEN -- Hamden is one of the few public schools that has a history of success against the deeply talented Catholic schools in boys' hockey. But in the last three years, one Catholic school has had the Green Dragons' number in the Division I state tournament.

No. 4-ranked Notre Dame-Fairfield, which traveled to Astorino Rink on Saturday for a regular-season matchup with No. 3 Hamden, ended the Green Dragons' season in the tournament quarterfinals in 2008 and 2007, and the Lancers defeated the them in the 2006 championship game.
