Article: Chamber hires new lobbying firm?

The Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce is retaining the services of a Hartford-based lobbying firm to represent its interests at the State Capitol.

The firm of Gara & Markowski has been hired by the chamber, which serves businesses in North Haven and Wallingford, to help promote the organization's interests with state lawmakers. The chamber's lobbying interest had previously been handled by Marshall Collins, said Robin Wilson, president and chief executive officer of the chamber.

The announcement of the chamber hiring the lobbying firm came Wednesday, as the General Assembly convened for its 2009 legislative session.
