Article: Fiesta time as Ford drives off with top car award

FORD took the top honours at a motor awards, with the company's new Fiesta being voted car of the year.

The Fiesta was also named best supermini in the What Car? awards, with the the Ford Mondeo also getting two prizes - best family car and best estate car.

What Car? editor Steve Fowler said: "The Fiesta is the right car at the right time - small in size, but big on ability.

"We love the way it looks and the way it drives, but it also stacks up as a shrewd buy, offering space and quality, while being affordable to buy and run."

Ford of Europe chairman and chief executive John Fleming said: "This is tremendous news for the whole Ford team."
