Fundraisers to put money in the athletic budget are planned, so
spring sports programs will go on as scheduled at the high school.
"Based on the projections I've received, we will have spring
sports," school committee Chairman Beirne Lovely told members of the
school's track team at the committee's meeting Tuesday night.
About $50,000 needs to be raised to fully fund the spring teams,
Athletic Director Stephen Traister said.
One of the fundraisers will be the selling of banners inside the
school's Copeland Field House. The school committee granted
permission for the banner sale at its Jan. 6 meeting.
The banners will be available for between $1,500 and $5,000,
