MASON -- The Mason home where Nadya Ferrari-Veillette and her four children were slain a year ago was sold for $240,000 to a bank Monday, Jan. 26, in a Warren County sheriff's sale.

Kirk Sampson, whose law firm handled the bidding for Deutsche Bank National Trust, which purcharsed the home, said he was a bit surprised no one else raised their hand at the auction.

"I'm shocked that nobody would bid against us, nobody would even take the bidding a dollar more," he said. "It sold for $240,000 and the property had been appraised at $360,000. I would have thought that somebody would have liked to pick up a bargain."
