Article: MP says job centre must access staff facing job losses

ADMINISTRATORS should be legally bound to let Jobcentre Plus staff into firms where there are planned redundancies, a North-East MP said.

Sedgefield MP Phil Wilson said administrators at several companies in the region would not let the centre's staff in.

He said: "It is so important.

Every bit of research shows that the sooner people who are made redundant or lose their jobs make contact with Jobcentre Plus and other agencies the better their chances of getting into work."
