A Brave van driver chased a suspected bank robber after the
second armed raid in Gloucester in just two days.
Painter and decorator Karl Dewick, of Longlevens, heard a woman
screaming outside Barclays Bank on the corner of Bristol Road and
Tudor Street at 1.45pm yesterday.
And when the 36-year-old saw a man race passed his parked van, he
leapt out and gave chase.
The robber was fleeing after snatching a bag containing thousands
of pounds from a woman customer in the bank.
Karl dialled 999 on his mobile phone during the chase and gave
police a description of the suspect.
He was just about to rugby-tackle the offender when the man
pulled out a large carving knife from his rucksack.
