Article: The real problem is being ignored

It Is with interest and a great deal of scepticism that I read of a public drop in session to be held in Tuffley by The Environment Agency (Citizen, January 12).

Residents are going to find out more about the agency's work to reduce flooding and to share their own views on how to reduce floor risk in the area.

This looks good in writing but it is my opinion and I would suggest it will be a complete waste of time and money. Oh yes, they may come along and clear out your brooks but the real problem, the River Severn, is ignored.

Further more, if such a session were held in Longford, I would have to ask what are they doing for our area, apart from allowing 700 houses to be built on the bog ...
