The same warm weather that enticed droves of humanity outside
Saturday made molehills out of the entries in the Cedarburg Annual
Winter Festival's ice carving contest and mush of the grounds for
its bed racing tournament.
Yet, none of the festival-goers was complaining. Not even the ice
carvers.
"It's another aspect of the competition," said Robb Seymour, of
Omro, as he sculpted his melting block of ice along Washington Ave.
Plus, it's not every year that those of us living in southeastern
Wisconsin get to enjoy 53-degree weather in early February. In fact,
the temperature -- measured Saturday at Mitchell International
Airport -- was 3 degrees higher than the previous record high set
