Q: In reading comments from each side in the gas-tax debate,
there is one stark contrast. The group advocating for a higher gas
tax uses words like "closing the deficit", "our planet", "oil
addiction", "sacrifice" and the all-important "we". The second group
of anti-tax-at-all-costs people uses the words "I", "me" and "my".
While I would never discount an individual's financial suffering, I
would much rather join the "we" people who see the big picture and
know "we" must make hard choices and sacrifices in the face of the
greatest crises of our time, economically, environmentally and, with
national security. It's about thinking of the greater good for our
state, country and pl anet. "We" ...
