If David Letterman made The Late Show famous and Gay Byrne was
synonymous with The Late, Late Show, perhaps Gareth Steenson must
now be the face of the Late, Late, Late show.
Not for the first time this season, the luck of the Irish was
beaming down in abundance on Exeter's very own important from the
Emerald Isle.
With the Chiefs' dreams of another trip to Twickenham seemingly
in tatters, the 24-year-old stepped forward to deliver the most
telling of knockout blows.
His last-gasp penalty, which crucially cannoned over via the
crossbar, not only sealed a slender 12-11 EDF Energy National Trophy
victory for his side, but decked visiting Bedford Blues for a third
time this season.
