Article: MATC board votes to fire Cole Supporters rally, but college president's termination approved

The Milwaukee Area Technical College board voted 6-3 Thursday night to dismiss President Darnell Cole, less than two weeks after he was cited with operating while intoxicated.

Cole's termination is effective immediately. Provost Vicki Martin will be the interim president of the college.

The board's decision came after a group of students and others rallied in favor of Cole, arguing that he be allowed to keep his job.
