Article: Shoppers mob RV show at South Towne

SANDY -- The dire warnings of financial experts and politicians bemoaning the recession were absent Friday afternoon inside a crowded South Towne Expo Center, as Serious Shoppers and Looky Lous mingled against a backdrop of simple pop-up trailers and luxury motor homes.

The annual Utah RV Show, which continues through Sunday, was doing a brisk business, fueled by shoppers hungry for bargains and happy that gas prices have dropped over the past year.

"Considering, or dreaming?" a reporter asks Gary Harms of Ogden. "Shopping," he responds. His family has been planning to replace a trailer "since before the economy went south," and nothing has changed except, perhaps, the prices.
