Article: 3i prepares to recruit successor to Hogg

BRITAIN'S largest listed private equity firm, 3i, has started the hunt for two new non-executive directors, one of whom is likely to replace chairman Baroness Hogg, who will step down at the end of next year.

The recruitment drive, led by headhunter Zygos Partnership, comes weeks after Philip Yea was ousted as chief executive.

The change in leadership will mark a fundamental shift for 3i, which has been led by Baroness Hogg and Philip Yea since 2002 and 2004 respectively.

Mr Yea left the company at the end of last month after the directors decided the company needed a change in direction after years of growing both assets and debts.
