A driver injured when his coach carrying Royal Marines crashed,
is back home just a week after undergoing major surgery to save his
leg.
Andrew Smith, aged 39, is recuperating at his flat in Stoke,
Plymouth, and looking forward to getting back to work as a coach
driver at Target Travel.
The driver, who was hailed a hero for saving his passengers'
lives as he battled to control the coach, arrived home late on
Thursday night and has since been visited by friends and well-
wishers.
He has also visited a doctor to have his wounds looked at.
The driver, injured when his vehicle careered off an ice-covered
road and hit a tree at about 50mph, has a laceration on his right
knee and severe bruising ...
