Concerned residents and representatives of environmental groups
attended an informal public hearing Tuesday in Donegal to voice
concerns regarding Amerikohl Mining Inc.'s application for an
underground coal mining operation in Saltlick.
William S. Plassio, district mining manager for the Department of
Environmental Protection, said the application for deep mining at
the White Mine -- affecting about 400 acres -- was received in
November and the DEP is in the early stages of reviewing the
application.

information or comments put on record for us to consider while we're
reviewing the application and to answer any questions individuals ...
