Article: Lothian MSPs rake in GBP 155,000

EDINBURGH and Lothians MSPs claimed more than GBP 155,000 in expenses in the first half of this financial year, newly published figures reveal.

Edinburgh Pentlands MSP David McLetchie, who stepped down as Scottish Tory leader in 2005 after a row over his taxi expenses, had the biggest claim among politicians in the area.

But today he said the GBP 17,826.99 bill included several non- recurring items which meant his claims for the second half of the year would be much lower.

Between them, the ten constituency MSPs representing Edinburgh and the Lothians and the seven Lothians list members claimed a total
