In his trademark checkered cap and flour-dusted apron, David "Chico" Estrada spun dough for the last time Saturday. Former employees and longtime regulars gathered at Chico's Big Lick Pizza as the man who has owned the pizzeria for 20 years said goodbye to his food court business in the Roanoke City Market Building.

Estrada said the deteriorating relationship between city officials and food vendors prompted him to hang up his apron after years of pizza-making in the city-owned building.

A week ago, Estrada sold his business to Tavern on the Market owner Roger Lamm, who will open the stall as Big Lick Pizza Co. on Monday, Estrada said.
