BALTIC -- Glenn A. Schlarb, 84, 219 E. Main St., Baltic, died
peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, following a
period of declining health.
He was born June 18, 1924, near Baltic, to the late Alvin W. and
Phoebe M. (Brown) Schlarb.
He was a 1942 graduate of Baltic High School.
Until 1972, he owned and operated Schlarb's Grill at Baltic,
along with a small trucking business. Later, he retired from the
Belden Brick Co. at Sugarcreek.
He was a member of Fiat United Church of Christ.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran. During his service, Glenn was a
boxing champion at Fort Wolters in Texas.
For many years, Glenn and his Belgian draft horses competed in
the sport of horse pulling. He ...
