The greater New Orleans area needs to turn its experience with
hurricanes into business opportunities, said retired Army Lt. Gen.
Russel Honore, who spoke today at the annual meeting of Greater New
Orleans Inc.
"My proposal to the greater New Orleans area is let's have a
party for hurricane preparation," he said. "We have the opportunity
to lead the rest of the world by having the first hurricane
preparedness festival."
Honore, who as head of Task Force Katrina led military response
in the wake of the hurricane, was the keynote speaker at the Hilton
New Orleans Riverside hotel meeting.
