San Ramon Performing Arts brings New York's longest-running
musical comedy revue, "Forbidden Broadway," to the Dougherty Valley
Performing Arts Center on Saturday. "Forbidden Broadway," which the
"Today" show called "Broadway's Saturday Night Live," is a comic
history of the Great White Way -- a wide avenue in New York City --
poking fun and revisiting everything from this year's Tony Award
winners to grand old chestnuts.
"Forbidden Broadway" began in a supper club in New York City in
January of 1982 by an out-of-work actor, Gerard Alessandrini.
Enlisting some of his actor friends, they created a hip show that
became a must-see by the very performers being roasted. The show
