A $361,000 state Growing Greener grant will help clean polluted
Lamberts Run in Stonycreek Township, Somerset County, near the 9/11
crash site and the future home of the Flight 93 National Memorial.
The grant, announced Friday by acting Environmental Protection
Secretary John Hangar, will be used to design and build two mine
drainage treatment facilities.
The underground mines, the source of the pollution, were
abandoned prior to World War II. Water samples on Lamberts Run
