Sorab Wadia, an actor who makes his living performing a one-man
show, likes to feel out his audience.
"What some people don't realize is that every single audience is
different, every time," Wadia said in a recent telephone interview
from his home in New York City.
"When you step out on the stage, it's like you're going out onto
a dance floor with an unknown partner, and your job as an actor is
to react to them. Sometimes they cry, sometimes they laugh ... The
best way to look at it, I think, is that you're going out there to
tell a story among friends."
Wadia, a native of India and veteran of New York's off-Broadway
scene, will perform a stage ...
