A Brookfield real estate agent was found guilty Monday in federal
court of seeking a bribe in connection with the proposed sale of a
$30 million state office building.
Larry Lupton, 33, was found guilty on one count of bribery, one
count of wire fraud and two counts of lying to the FBI by U.S.
District Judge Lynn Adelman, who presided over his non-jury trial
earlier this month.
Lupton's sentencing was scheduled for June 26. Federal sentencing
guidelines call for anywhere from 2 1/2 to four years in prison,
depending on how Adelman rules on certain issues.
Lupton's attorney, Joseph F. Owens, said his client was shocked
by the verdict and vowed an appeal.
