Public Allies comes to Md.

The University of Maryland School of Social Work said it is partnering with Public Allies, of Milwaukee, a national organization that prepares people ages 18 to 30 for viable careers in the nonprofit sector. The partnership aims to identify and select eligible Marylanders and match them to nonprofit organizations. Those chosen will work four days a week at their sites and attend classes on the fifth for 10 months. They will get health care, child care if needed, and a $4,000 educational scholarship.
