Job seekers are outnumbering vacancies advertised in job centres
by 21 to one in North East Lincolnshire - double the regional
average.
It leaves the Grimsby-area behind only Hull - a city that has
been hit by the collapse of the caravan manufacturing industry - in
the whole of the Yorkshire and Humber area.
The analysis of official statistics has come from the Trades
Union Congress (TUC), and is published today.
Using the latest unemployment statistics for January 2009, the
TUC has worked out the number of jobseeker allowance (JSA) claimants
per job centre-advertised vacancy in every local authority area in
the UK.
On average, there are 10 claimants for every job centre vacancy
in Yorkshire ...
