Former Symbionese Liberation Army radical released

LOS ANGELES, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Former Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA) radical Sara Jane Olson was released on parole on Tuesday, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) announced.

After seven years in state prison for crimes in the 1970s, Olson was given clearance to travel to Minnesota, where she will spend one year on supervised parole, the CDCR said in a statement.

"Olson's transfer is consistent with the Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision, which permits offenders who meet the mandatory criteria to be supervised on parole in another state," the statement said.
