Article: Okla. City attorney downplays effect of U.S. Supreme Court's drug label decision

A U.S. Supreme Court decision holding that federal approval of drug-warning labels does not necessarily bar lawsuits based on state law that makes it easier to sue drug companies, but may not increase such cases to the extent predicted by some, an Oklahoma City attorney says.

In Wyeth v. Levine, the 6-3 court decision upheld a $6.7 million state-court jury verdict in favor of Vermont musician Diana Levine, who had to have her arm amputated after being injected with Phenergan, an anti-nausea drug.
