Memphis coach John Calipari lost to Kansas in the 2008 national
championship game -- largely because the Tigers couldn't shoot
straight from the free-throw line -- and lost three starters off
that talented team, including All-American guard Derek Rose.
Yet one year later, the Tigers (31-3) are poised for another
Final Four run with a team that is younger but still quite talented,
armed with the nation's longest winning streak at 25 games and
hacked off to be seeded No. 2 in the West behind Connecticut.
Calipari has been trying to downplay the seeding angle in recent
days.
