Guangdong tops CBA regular season, Beijing out of playoffs

BEIJING, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Guangdong Dongguan Bank clinched the top position of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) regular season after beating arch rival Xinjiang Guanghui 106-96 in the final round on Friday.

It was the fourth consecutive regular season champion for Guangdong after they gave Xinjiang the first home loss in the season. Jason Dixon had 23 points and 12 rebounds, leading Guangdong to finish the regular season with 45-5.

Guangdong never trailed since the first quarter until the middle of the third quarter while Myron Allen made two free throws for Xinjiang to lead with 63-62. Guangdong made several ...
