A huge crowd is likely to gather at the Cornish boatyard of C
Toms & Son on April 3 for the launch of its latest build - a 16-
metre vivier crabber for brothers Duncan and Murdo Kennedy from the
Outer Hebrides.
As one of the biggest boats built at the yard, the new boat, the
Louisa, represents a major contract, and a similar sized crabber -
for a Newlyn-based owner - is also under build, plus a 12-metre
scalloper/trawler for the Exmouth firm of D&K Trawlers.
"So far all but one of our boats have come from Cornwall, so it
may be a good omen to have this one -- Louisa (SY 80) - built there
too," Murdo Kennedy said.
