Article: Bond issue could boost construction industry ; Contractors predict projects will create 150-plus jobs

The St. Joseph School District has said repeatedly that if its
bond issue is passed, it will create many jobs in St. Joseph. How
many varies between 150 to more than 200 jobs, said a few local
contractors.
That's not counting the benefits outside of contract work, said
M. Scott Howell, business manager of the Laborers' International
Union Local No. 579.
"It would create a lot of construction jobs for all the different
crafts, material suppliers, people supplying brick and rock and the
metal for roofs and things like that," he said. "It will start a big
ball rolling."
Getting the ball rolling depends on voters passing a $45 million
"Vision for the Future" bond issue on April 7. If passed, the ...
