The word "triplets" first came up during a hospital welcome
lecture I attended with my husband Matt and about 50 other couples
who, like us, were about to start IVF treatment. The doctor talking
us through the IVF process explained the many precautions his clinic
takes to minimise the risk of a multiple pregnancy. He said they
followed a strict policy limiting the number of embryos they replace
in women undergoing IVF, and as a result, had a very low incidence
of twin and triplet pregnancies.
