Article: PRIME program working in Rochester

Kenneth McNeil on Friday said he realizes just how fortunate he was to have a full-time job, especially given the state of the current economy.

But McNeil, of Rochester, wanted more. From as far back as he can remember, he wanted to be a heavy equipment operator.

He faced a difficult decision last year: Should he leave his job to follow his passion?

He joined the Providing Real Incentives to Maintain Employment (PRIME) program and, seven weeks later, now carries a CDL-B license.

He and 10 other participants were honored Friday for completing the program during a ceremony at the Danforth Community Center on West Avenue.
