It's a tried and tested means of quickly finding a suitable date.
Now charities in Derbyshire are going to use the speed-dating
technique to find prospective volunteers.
Twenty local organisations will be given three minutes to
convince people to sign up with them as volunteers at a quick-fire
recruitment evening.
People attending the speed-volunteering event, at Spondon Village
Hall, will work their way around the tables listening to the
pitches.
During that time, they can ask questions about volunteering -
deciding whether or not the organisation is the perfect match for
them.
The event, at the Sitwell Street venue, on Wednesday, April 8, is
targeting people aged 16 to 25.
