An Underwater world has opened at Alton Towers with thousands
flocking to visit the new attraction on its opening day.
Stingrays, sharks and sea-horses are among the species on show at
the resort's new Sea Life aquarium.
The pirate-themed centre is home to more than 300 species of
fish, housed in one million litres of water. It opened to the
public for the first time on Saturday.
It includes a tropical interactive pool where youngsters can dip
their fingers for shrimps to nibble away all the dirt.
One of the first through the door was Charlotte Halsey, aged 18,
from Leek. She said: "I've done a lot of snorkelling abroad and I
recognise a lot of the fish in the Sea Life centre from my trips ...
