SEAGATE Technology has become the first engineering employer in
Northern Ireland to offer an in-company adult engineering
apprenticeship under the Apprenticeships NI programme.
The company, based in Springtown in Londonderry, said eight
employees previously employed as operators had switched to new roles
as apprentices with a structured engineering training programme.
They will learn on the job and will also study on a day-release
basis at the Strand Road Campus of the North West Regional College.
