Article: LAKE COLERIDGE OPEN DAY; Day whistles up funds for local school

The Lake Coleridge Open Day was first run in 1997 to raise funds for the community school at Windwhistle which, at the time, had only seven pupils on its roll.

A new board of trustees had just been appointed and the open day was its way of raising badly needed funds and local confidence in the school.

It was a resounding success, thanks to the support of the local community as well as TrustPower, which agreed to open the doors of the Lake Coleridge Power Station to the public for the first time.
