Article: Baltimore City Council considers change to live entertainment regulations

A proposal being floated by Baltimore City Council that would change where promoters and club owners can host events with live entertainment or dancing has met opposition from some small venue owners.

Council President Stephanie Rawlings-Blake made the rounds of local television and radio news programs today ahead of a community meeting tonight at Morgan State University to discuss Council Bill 08-163.

The law, which is based on similar measures taken in Boston and Seattle, would delete live entertainment and dancing as a zoning use category, and establish a Board of Licenses for Live Entertainment and Office of Hospitality Services, two new agencies with a projected $350,000 combined ...
