Article: TAX BREAKS ON FACTORY LOCKED EXPANSION DEAL BERRY PLASTICS TO CREATE 360 JOBS AT EVANSVILLE PLANT

Some of Berry Plastics' greatest successes have come through the sale of drink cups.

Now the company has chosen Evansville as the place to try out the newest variation on its prime product - the clear cups used for coffee, lattes and similar drinks.

To that end, Berry Plastics will hire 360 employees in the next seven years and build a $150 million expansion to its global headquarters at 101 Oakley St.

Ira G. Boots, Berry chairman and chief executive officer, said he doesn't consider this new venture a great risk.

"We are very confident," Boots said. "That's why Berry is expanding in a dark economy. We have a world-leading technology that no one has been able to duplicate to date."
